Before You Ask

Frequently asked questions

What are the screens made from, and will they really last?

Heavy-duty PVC-coated polyester mesh, printed with UV-stabilised inks — the same class of materials used for commercial outdoor banners and shade products. They're built for Australian sun, wind and salt air, and we back the fabric with our 5-Year Guarantee. With basic care, screens routinely look great well beyond that.

How do I work out what size I need?

Measure two things. First, the width, from the inside of one awning arm to the inside of the other. Second, the drop you want (from the awning rail to the ground, or wherever you'd like the screen to finish). You'll also need your spline size (4mm or 6mm), the cord that slides into the keyway on your awning tube. Our picture guide shows exactly where to measure the width. Every screen is made to your exact measurements, so if you're not confident, ring us on 1300 326 188 and we'll talk you through it in a few minutes.

How do I send my image, and what if it's not good enough quality?

Email your photo to vantastic@aussieoutdoor.com.au or mention it in the form above and we'll reply with upload instructions. Send the original, full-quality file (not a Facebook or WhatsApp copy). Our artist checks every image free of charge — if it won't print well at full size, we'll tell you straight and suggest alternatives, including Shutterstock's library or a custom design.

How long will my screen take?

Most screens are dispatched from our Carrara factory approximately 3 weeks after proof approval, plus shipping time to your door. Got a trip coming up? Tell us the date in your enquiry — we'll be upfront about whether we can meet it.

How do I care for my screen?

Easy: hose it down or wipe it with warm soapy water (no harsh solvents or pressure washers up close), let it dry fully before rolling it up for storage, and store it out of the weather when you're not travelling. That's it — no special treatments needed.

What does a custom design by your artist cost?

Custom artwork starts from $330* as a one-off design fee, depending on complexity — a simple layout with text costs less than a fully illustrated scene. (*We'll quote the exact fee before any design work begins, and you'll see a proof before you commit to printing.)

Do you ship Australia-wide?

We do — from Carrara to anywhere in the country. Screens are rolled (never creased), wrapped and sent with tracking. Local to the Gold Coast? You're welcome to pick up from the factory and say g'day.

Still thinking it over?

No pressure — a quote costs nothing and there's no obligation. Worst case, you'll know exactly what your dream screen would cost.
