Tell you straight
If your photo won't print well at screen size, we'll say so before you spend a cent — and help you find or design one that will.
Our Story
We're caravanners ourselves. Van Tastic started because we wanted our own van to feel like ours — and we reckon yours should too.
Family Owned & Operated
Like most good ideas, Van Tastic started around a campfire. We'd pulled into a busy park on the Gold Coast hinterland, put up the same beige privacy screen as every second van in the row, and thought: why does something we love doing have to look so ordinary?
With a background in large-format printing and a shed full of stubbornness, we set about finding a way to print real photographs onto proper outdoor mesh — fabric tough enough for Australian conditions, ink that wouldn't fade by Christmas. Today we run our own factory at 1/6 Elysium Road, Carrara, where every single screen is printed, hemmed and quality-checked by our family and small local team.
Real Materials, Real Craft
We're fussy about materials because we use this gear ourselves. Our screens are cut from heavy-duty PVC-coated polyester mesh — the same family of fabric trusted for commercial shade sails and outdoor banners. It's engineered to block glare and give you privacy while still letting the breeze through, so your annex stays cool instead of turning into a hothouse.
Your image is printed with UV-stabilised inks on our wide-format printer, then every edge is double-hemmed and finished with the fittings to suit your awning. Before anything ships, it's laid out on the factory floor and checked over by the same people whose name is on the door.
That's why we're comfortable backing every screen with a 5-Year Fabric Guarantee — if the fabric fails under normal use, we'll make it right.
Why It Matters
Plenty of printers can put ink on fabric. What makes us different is that we understand what a screen has to survive: weeks of coastal salt spray, red dust on the Savannah Way, being rolled up damp in a hurry when the weather turns. We design and finish our screens for that life, and we talk to you like fellow travellers — not order numbers.
When you ring us on 1300 326 188, you're talking to the people who'll actually make your screen. Measurements, fittings, whether your photo will look good big — ask us anything. Honest advice costs nothing.
Our Promise
If your photo won't print well at screen size, we'll say so before you spend a cent — and help you find or design one that will.
Nothing goes to print until you've seen exactly what your screen will look like and given us the thumbs up.
Five years on the fabric, made in our own factory, by people you can ring directly. That's the deal.
